Frequently Asked Questions

The answers to some of your burning questions about bins and bin cleaning.

What bins do we clean?

As Perth's most established and experienced bin cleaning business, we clean all bins: 120 L, 240 L and 360 L wheelie bins as well as 660 L and 1,100 L plastic dumpers, all cleaned in our custom-made proprietary bin cleaning truck with a largely automated process. We also clean the larger front-lift steel bins for our valued clients, and we're introducing technology to clean them far quicker and more efficiently.

Why would I have my bin professionally cleaned?

Bin Bath will make your bins look and smell great inside and out. We use a completely enclosed washing unit with biodegradable antibacterial detergent and deodorisers, combined with high-pressure water, to hygienically clean the bins. We recycle our water through a sophisticated filtration system and dispose of recycled water and filtered solids under licence as required by the WA Water Corporation.

How often should I have my residential bin cleaned?

It depends on how dirty the bin gets. We recommend starting with a four-weekly service for domestic customers, then adjusting if you feel it needs cleaning more often. For businesses and commercial customers we recommend a fortnightly or four-weekly service for excellent results.

Does my recycle bin need cleaning?

It depends on what you put in it! It usually doesn't get as dirty as your general waste bin, but milk, soft drink, beer and wine spillages are enough to start bacteria building up — which isn't good in our climate. Insects also love sugar-based items, so we recommend having it cleaned at the same time as your domestic bin.

What is a FOGO bin?

FOGO stands for Food Organics Garden Organics. The FOGO kerbside collection is for food and garden waste such as kitchen scraps, lawn clippings, small branches and garden debris. Material from the FOGO bin (green lid) is collected fortnightly, on the alternate week to your recycling bin (yellow lid).

Do I need to supply you with water?

No — our purpose-built trucks are fully self-contained with on-board water.

Do you clean every day of the week?

You'll often find us on St Georges Terrace in the City of Perth cleaning bins from 3am. We start as early as required and usually work up to 7pm in the evening. We don't work public holidays or weekends, but if there's a job to do we'll make a plan to do it — contact us for anything outside usual hours.

Do you use harsh or hazardous chemicals?

No. Bin Bath Perth only uses non-hazardous, biodegradable, environmentally safe products for all of our bin cleaning services.

Is Bin Bath a registered business and appropriately insured?

Bin Bath Corporation Pty Ltd is a registered company fulfilling Australian industry regulations. Bin Bath is certified by the leading OH&S/WHS pre-qualification organisations — CM3, Who's on Site and Trade Monitors — and is fully insured, holding public liability and workers compensation insurance.

Do I need to be home when you come to clean my bins?

No. Just leave the bins somewhere we can get to them. If you'd like us to put your bins back where they live afterwards, let us know and we'll do that with pleasure.

What if I have multiple bins to clean?

No problem — we can clean as many bins as you require.

What areas do you currently service?

We provide services all over the Perth metropolitan area. We also work closely with other excellent operators, so if you're outside the areas we currently service we'll find an associate business to assist you.

How do I pay if I'm not there when you come?

There are numerous ways to make payment once you have placed an order.

Can we pay as we go, for every cleaning instance?

Absolutely, if that suits you best.

Do you service real estate rentals, strata, holiday homes, retirement villages and blocks of units?

Yes — for over twenty years the commercial sector is what we've specialised in, and it forms the majority of our business. Contact us for whatever your needs are.

How do I contact you to place an order?

You can book online, or call and talk to the MD who will do his best to cater for all of your needs — call Mark on 0498 819 185, anytime. If your question hasn't been answered here, email admin@binbath.com.au and we'll answer your enquiry within 24 hours.
